Improved solvent ink performance
- Print quality is more consistent and reliable when printing thick lines with solvent ink at temperatures over 90°F.
- Printing with solvent ink now supports thicker, longer lines (¼” for up to one foot, ⅛” for distances of any length).
Printable legend for point styles
On the iPad, an Operator can chose to display all points on a layer with a particular style, called a point style. Note: Point Styles will be coming to the Dusty Portal in a future release. Need to show which point styles correspond to which layers? You can now print a point style legend directly onto the jobsite floor that shows which layer names are associated with each point style in the layout.
To create one:
- Tap and hold on an empty spot on the canvas where you want the legend to appear.
- Select “Create Point Styles Legend” from the menu.
This adds a new layer called “Point Style Legend”, and the corresponding geometry will appear on the canvas. To change the position of the legend, delete the Point Style Legend layer and try again. Add the legend to the print queue as with any other geometry.
Control point info bubble
Tapping a control point now shows an info bubble with an option to record it for stationing. Use the trash button to remove the control point.
Ease of Use Enhancements
- Selecting a layer in the Layer panel now restricts selection to that layer. Background objects are grayed out and cannot be selected. This allows you to easily print only one object type or one trade’s layout a time.
- The iPad app will alert users when a new major version of the app is available. This ensures you’re always using the latest version of Dusty’s software.
- Lowercase letters now print at uniform heights, regardless of ascenders or descenders. This improves the appearance of text objects and points.
- When measuring Floor Elevation, you can now remeasure a point by marking it as “Not Recorded,” which discards its previous measurement and returns it to the measurement queue (measured points show as pink with a check mark, unmeasured as purple). This can be done either via the info bubble by tapping the measured point and selecting the location-marker button, or via the canvas menu by selecting points with the Select Printed tool, pressing and holding the canvas, and choosing Mark Not Measured.
Bug Fixes
- The tracker’s OTG (Orient to Gravity) process starts when the Elevation slider is turned on, and it now stops when the Elevation slider is turned off.
- Fixed an issue where the station verification error message and yellow background did not clear after deleting a verification point.
- Fixed an issue where emojis printed multiple times; each emoji now prints once as expected.
- In Portal, fixed an issue with page loading so that project pages now load faster. You’ll see just one spinner while the full list loads instead of many, making the page quicker and smoother.
