Overview

Proper installation of Ink Cartridges is required for consistent print quality and to prevent damage to the print head assembly. Incorrect installation can damage the Latch, Cartridge, or internal components.

Follow this procedure exactly when installing Cartridges in the FieldPrinter 2.

Requirements:

• Ensure the FieldPrinter 2 is powered off by following the article:  Power Off FieldPrinter 2
• Ensure the Ink Cartridges are compatible by following the article: Ink Type
• Clean the Print Stall area by following the article: Requirements for Operating the FieldPrinter on a Jobsite 

How to Install Ink Cartridges:

1. Press the "Front Panel Release Button" button at the center top of the print head of the print stall.

    

2. Lower the “Front Panel”.

    

3. Gently slide the “Print Stall” to the side of the cartridge to be installed (left or right) to avoid damaging the cartridge latch. In this case, to the right.

    

4. Raise the “Latch”.
   ⚠️ Important: Ensure the ribbon cables are not obstructing the Latch.

    

5. Hold the Cartridge at a slight diagonal angle, as shown.
   

    

6. Ensure the Latch remains fully open.
    

7. Insert the Cartridge.
   ⚠️ Important:  Do not apply excessive pressure or force the Cartridge into place, as this may damage both the cartridge and the Latch.

    

8. Lower the latch.
   ⚠️ Important: Ensure the latch is fully flush with the Cartridge.

9. Slide the Print Stall to the opposite side and repeat the process. In this case, to the left.
    
10. Turn on the FieldPrinter 2 by pressing and holding the power button for 4–5 seconds.
