Overview
The AT930/AT960 laser tracker has three status LEDs located on the front of the telescope. These LEDs provide a real-time visual indication of the system's current state, from power-on and warm-up through active measurement.
Understanding these indicators helps you quickly confirm the system is ready before measuring, identify issues in the field, and avoid taking measurements while the system is in an unready state.
Status LED Reference
The AT930/AT960 uses three LED colors: Red, Green, and Blue in various patterns. Use the table below to identify what each combination means.
| LED Color(s) | Pattern | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Red, Green, and Blue | Off | The AT Controller or AT930 instrument is off. |
| Red, Green, and Blue | Static (solid) | The system is booting up. |
| Red and Blue | Static (solid) | System is ready. No reflector is in the field of view. PowerLock is active. |
| Red only | Static (solid) | System is ready. No reflector is in the field of view. PowerLock is inactive. |
| Red only | Flashing slowly | Warm-up in progress. The system is not yet ready to measure. |
| Red only | Short flashes with longer breaks | Laser is off (stand-by mode). |
| Red only | Flashing | Target is out of range — either too close or too far. |
| Green only | Static (solid) | Target is locked and stable. Ready to measure. |
| Green only | Flashing | Measurement is in progress. |
| Blue only | Flashing slowly | PowerLock is temporarily suspended while the laser is pointing. |
💡 Tip: A solid green LED is your go signal; it means the target is locked and the system is ready to take a measurement.

| c | PowerLock |
| d | Status LEDs |
| e | PowerLock LED |
| f | Overview Camera |
| g | Coaxial optics for angle and distance measurement; exit port for the visible laser beam of the IFM and ADM |
| h | Circular level |
| i | Sensor cable connector |
Quick Troubleshooting
The red LED is flashing slowly. The system is still warming up. Wait until the LED changes to solid green before starting your measurements.
The red LED is flashing (without a long break pattern). Your reflector target is out of the valid measurement range. Move the target closer or farther until the LED turns solid green.
The red and blue LEDs are both solid. The system is ready, but PowerLock is active, and no reflector is currently in the field of view. Aim the instrument at your target to acquire it.
The blue LED is flashing slowly. PowerLock has temporarily paused while the laser is pointing. This is normal behavior during pointing operations.
