Lower the reflector straight down onto the robot's reflector mount until it drops into the notch and sits flat. Do this every time you put the reflector on the robot.
A reflector that is tilted or only partly in the notch makes the tracker read a slightly shifted position. That can leave printed lines offset from where they should be.
Insert the Reflector on the Mount
- Check that the mount is clean. Dust or debris inside it keeps the reflector from sitting all the way down, so clear it before you insert the reflector.
- Find the notch on the mount. The notch is the space between the two small prongs. The mount is dark, so in low light run a finger along it to feel for the notch.
- Set the reflector on the mount with its mirrors lined up with the notch.
- Push the front part of the reflector straight down until it stops. Do not force it.
Confirm the Reflector Is Fully Seated
Before you station or print, confirm all of these:
- The base of the reflector sits flat and flush against the mount.
- The reflector is level. Look at it from more than one side.
- It does not rock or wobble when you gently try to move it side to side.
Once it passes, tap Start Reflector in the Dusty app. It is the last step in the Setup tab.
If the Reflector Will Not Sit Down
Do not force it. Take it off and look at the mount first.
- Remove the reflector and clear any dust or debris from the mount.
- Insert the reflector again, following the steps above.
- If the mount looks bent or worn, or the reflector still rocks after a clean re-insert, stop and contact Dusty Support (510-210-3658).
